ABOUT US
We are a Baptist church, with members from all ages and walks of life.
We gather together on Sundays to worship God, to hear the Bible’s good news about Jesus Christ and to encourage one another in the Christian life.
Our members seek to follow the example of Jesus every day, and as a church community we try to demonstrate the love of God in Jesus by serving others our local community.

Salem is a Baptist church, and is a member of the Baptist Union of Wales, and the South Wales Baptist Association.
As a Baptist church, we affirm the Baptist declaration of principle that the Basis of the Baptist Union is:
1. That our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, God manifest in the flesh, is the sole and absolute authority in all matters pertaining to faith and practice, as revealed in the Holy Scriptures, and that each Church has liberty, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, to interpret and administer His laws.
2. That Christian Baptism is the immersion in water into the Name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, of those who have professed repentance towards God and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ who 'died for our sins according to the Scriptures; was buried, and rose again the third day'.
3. That it is the duty of every disciple to bear personal witness to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and to take part in the evangelisation of the world.

To be a prayerful community which takes the Bible as its guide for life. A community that seeks to live the Great Commandment, to love God and neighbour. A community that seeks to fulfil the Commission of Christ, to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all nations.

To be a community of Christians who love God, follow Jesus and share the hope which we have in him, by serving the local community.
OUR VALUES
To serve our community in spiritual and practical ways, with the help of the Holy Spirit. We aim for our lives to be a true representation of Jesus Christ within our communities, by obeying the commands of Jesus in our own lives and seeking to partner with him in building his kingdom of love, justice and mercy in our community.
